Richard Curle's service records show he was a member of No. 33 SFTS from late January 1942. As part of the Commonwealth Air Training Plan, it was here that Richard flew.
The airfield consisted of six paved runways were supplemented by two relief fields at Oberon. Training aircraft consisted of Harvards and Ansons. For more details see Historic Sites of Manitoba.
